  પરિચય:  અભિજ્ઞાન શાકુંતલમ મહાકવિ કાલિદાસનું એક ઉત્તમ નાટક છે. આ નાટકે આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે પ્રશંસા મેળવી છે.  તેમાં સાત કૃત્યોનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.  જે મહાન  રાજા દુષ્યંત અને પ્રથમ શકુંતલાની જાણીતી પ્રેમકથા સાથે સંકળાયેલી છે. આ પ્રેમકથા કલાત્મક રીતે રજૂ કરવામાં આવી છે.  તે માનવીય લાગણીઓની સચિત્ર રજૂઆત છે.  તેનો દરેક શબ્દ વીણાએ બનાવેલ સંગીત છે.   શીર્ષક:  શકુંતલા નો જન્મ આ્ સુંદર નાટકને તેની નાયિકાના નામ પરથી રાખવામાં આવ્યું છે.  અહીં શકુંતલાએ નોંધપાત્ર ભૂમિકા ભજવી છે.  તેનો પ્રેમી રાજા દુષ્યંત આ નાટકનો હીરો છે.  જો શકુંતલા સ્ત્રીત્વનું સુંદર ચિત્ર છે, તો દુષ્યંત ઉત્કૃષ્ટ નાયક છે.શકુંતલા સ્વર્ગીય સુંદરતા ધરાવતી હતી.  તે તેની માતા મેનકા પાસેથી વારસામાં મળી હતી.  દુષ્યંત જુવાન, ઉદાર અને જાજરમાન અને મધુર સંબોધનનો પણ હતો.  શકુન્તલા સૌન્દર્યની ઉપમા હોવાથી રાજા દુષ્યંતના હૃદયને મોહિત કર્યું. શકુંતલા અને દુષ્યંત: હૃદયથી શકુંતલા ખૂબ સુંદર છે. તેની સુંદરતામાં કૃત્રિમ કંઈ નથી. તે અનિવાર્યપણે કુદરતી છે. તેણી પાસે સ્ત્રીની નમ્રત...
